  • For the past 11 years, I have had the privilege to work alongside some of the most thoughtful accounting leaders in the largest accounting firm in the world, proudly providing value and insight to businesses, big and small, across Atlantic Canada.

    Growing up in rural Newfoundland, and honing my professional skills in Moncton, New Brunswick, I felt compelled to focus my attention on our region and leverage what I have learned over those years to help companies continue to thrive in an ever-changing environment. The goal of Woodman CPA Professional Corporation is to be able to provide large-firm insights with the personal connection engrained in our region.

Throughout my time with Deloitte LLP, I acted in a number of roles. Most recently prior to starting Woodman CPA Professional Corporation I served as Senior Manager for three years which included:

  • Acting as the lead engagement manager for 10 medium sized enterprises primarily in the manufacturing sector with revenue ranging from $10 to $250 million

  • Leading the financial institutions Atlantic audit team with clients of asset bases ranging from $50 to $150M.

  • Acting as the lead Engagement Quality Control Reviewer for the Atlantic region, assisting teams to develop appropriate audit strategies for complex issues that complied with Canadian Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.

  • Working with teams to develop and review accounting memos around complex matters within International Financial Reporting Standards, Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises, and Accounting Standards for Non-Profit Organizations primarily related, but not limited, to:

    ○ Revenue

    ○ Inventory

    ○ Business combinations

    ○ Leases

  • Delivered learning curriculum both at the regional and national level relating to revised accounting standards for ASPE Section 3400, and budgeting skills for new managers.

  • From September 2020 to September 2021 I acted as the National ASPE Accounting Expert, assisting teams across the country with complex accounting issues related to financial instruments, revenue, property, plant and equipment, and a variety of other accounting matters.
